The small print,
on one sheet.
01 The short version
- No account. There is nothing to sign up for.
- No server. Dayprint has no backend to send data to.
- No tracking. No analytics, pixels, ads, or profiles.
- No uploads. Photos and page snaps are processed in your browser.
Dayprint is a Chrome extension and a static web demo. The extension stores its data using Chrome's local storage API. The web demo uses your browser's local storage. Neither one requires an account or a network connection.
02 What Dayprint stores
When you use the extension, the following lives in your browser:
- Your line items, optional notes, and whether each one is done.
- Your chosen paper theme, stamp, sound preference, and receipt wording.
- An optional photograph, already converted to a black-and-white print.
- Past prints you have torn off, including a snapshot of that day.
- The position of the floating receipt on a page.
This information is kept under the key
dayprint:state:v1 in chrome.storage.local. It is
not synced between devices, because Dayprint does not request Chrome's
synced storage. Uninstalling the extension or using
Reset all data in the desk settings removes it.
03 What leaves your browser
Nothing leaves as part of normal use. Dayprint does not include analytics, crash reporting, advertising, remote fonts, or third-party scripts. The fonts, illustrations, and code needed by the extension are bundled inside the extension itself.
If you choose Share image, your operating system's native share sheet may send the image to an app you pick. If you choose Copy image or Download, the image goes only where you send it. These actions happen because you asked for them.
When the popup takes a snapshot of the visible page, the screenshot is processed locally and saved as your receipt photo. It is not uploaded.
04 Permissions, and why
Chrome asks extensions to declare their powers up front. Dayprint asks for the smallest set that makes the product work:
Dayprint does not request broad host permissions. The overlay is injected
only after a click or keyboard shortcut, under Chrome's activeTab
grant.
05 Photos, snaps & sharing
Photographs you choose are converted into a dithered monochrome mask and stored as a data URL in local storage. The original file is not kept or transmitted. Page snapshots follow the same path.
Exported receipt images are generated on a canvas in your browser. They are not watermarked with a tracking identifier. If you share one, it is simply an image of your day.
06 Your control
- Remove a line from the receipt by editing or clearing it.
- Remove a photograph from the photo dialog.
- Use Reset all data in settings to erase everything.
- Uninstall Dayprint from Chrome to remove its local storage.
- Disable the extension at any time from
chrome://extensions.
Because there is no server, there is no remote copy to request, delete, or export. Your browser is the only place the data exists.
07 Contact & changes
Dayprint is an independent project. For privacy questions, use the developer contact link on the Chrome Web Store listing. If this note changes, the updated version will be published here with a new date.
